12 Months
The last year has been weird.
I quit my job and cofounded SIZE. The Google AI to Crypto arc is stark. We’ve gone from snacks in micro kitchens to miladies in discords. Crypto is niche and the culture was new to me. I've had a lot of self-doubt and felt like an outsider at times but I wouldn’t trade the decision.
I have also reconnected with a lot of friends from college. A few years after graduating, I went off the grid. College was a mixed experience. I wanted a fresh start. Who doesn't at times?

The GGMM
Over the last few months, I’ve thought a lot about the GGMM. The GGMM (Generic Good Morning Message) was a big part of college. What’s the GGMM? It was basically a writing society. That probably sounds lame and/or douchey. It probably was but I loved it.
GGMM. Every year, seniors tapped 5 kids to write. You undergo some lite hazing. You’re given a pseudonym to write under. (My pseudonym was Mme. Medusa). You’re given a day of the week. You’re supposed to write something funny each week. & You email it to 6,000 students + alumni.
It’s hard to make 6,000 people laugh. There were a lot of unsubscribes. There were a lot of complaints. The GGMM was hit or miss. Some pieces were funny. A lot were serious. A lot were weird. Hungover ramblings.
Backwards Before Forwards
A friend recently asked some of us to reboot the GGMM (alumni edition). Change spurs more change. Beginnings beget old endings. I figured why not.
Looking forwards means looking back. With that, sharing my final GGMM from college. Sent during graduation: 06.13.2013.
